FMCSA expands online Complaint Center to brokers, ELDT schools and registration fraud

The former National Consumer Complaint Database adds new categories, a redesigned site and a clearer path for drivers and the public to flag safety and compliance problems.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration said Nov. 6 it has launched an enhanced FMCSA Complaint Center so drivers, industry professionals and the public can report more kinds of potential violations.

The platform replaces the old National Consumer Complaint Database name. FMCSA says the upgrade is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pro-Trucker Package announced in June 2025 under Executive Order 14286.

What changed

According to the agency's information bulletin, recent enhancements include:

  • New complaint categories for property brokers, entry-level driver training and the Training Provider Registry, intermodal equipment providers, and registration-related fraud and identity theft
  • Renaming the site the FMCSA Complaint Center and swapping "consumer" language for "general public"
  • A redesigned website and submission form, plus an updated complaint search tool
  • Moving Medical Review Officer and Substance Abuse Professional issues under a new Drug and Alcohol Service Agents category

How to file

FMCSA says complainants do not need every detail before filing. The agency reviews complaints with other information to decide whether a company or regulated party warrants further review or enforcement. Filing does not automatically start an investigation or create a violation.

For emergencies, the agency says call 911.
